*(Ranked by reviewers as No.1 of over 500 attractions in Dublin Feb - Oct  2013)*

Experience Gaelic Games is a hands-on activity which explains the cultural phenomena of Gaelic Games. It’s full of fun and laughter and delivered in the heart of the community – just about the most memorable, authentic and fun Irish experience visitors can have!

Ireland’s unique national sports help define Irish culture and stand proudly alongside other famous Irish traditions like Irish dancing, traditional music, singing and story-telling. No introduction to modern Irish culture is complete without an introduction to the importance of Gaelic Games

It’s so close to the City Centre!

Experience Gaelic Games is easily accessed by the Number 4 and 9 buses from O’Connell Street which stop outside the venue. The bus journey time is less than 10 mins.

Experience Gaelic Games sessions are available for groups comprising of a min of 6 people. Independent enquires are grouped and sessions formed accordingly.

How Experience Gaelic Games Work

Experience Gaelic Games in Dublin is located at Na Fianna GAA Club, Mobhi Road, Glasnevin Dublin 9

The club is one of the largest of the 94 Gaelic clubs in Dublin complete with changing rooms, showering facilities, presentation suite, full a/v facilities etc. and the 4 and 9 bus stops directly outside.

Sessions start indoors with an introduction to the games. During which you’ll learn some history of the games, their place and relevance to life in Ireland and how the games are structured and played. The introduction is very informal and includes lots of interaction & videos of the games.

Following this, it is out to the all weather pitches, where we introduce you to the skills of Gaelic Football, Hurling and GAA Handball. All guests need are flat shoes (maybe tracksuit) and a willingness to have a bit of fun. There are dressing rooms/showers on site, so if you wish you can avail of these but you must supply your own towels.

We operate a high trainer to guest ratio, which means that all participants get lots of attention and learn properly. It’s the interaction that makes the event - all our trainers are great, they are passionate about the games and they really interact with visitors.

Depending on the make-up of the group we generally play mini-matches - not too serious and all in good fun.

In terms of cost, it’s €35 per person, for 3/4 hours and covers a full morning or afternoon of guaranteed fun! The sessions are fully supervised and are mainly light activity but as with all sporting activities – guests take part at their own risk.

The main thing is that your day is a bit of "Irish craic" and we amend the structure of each session to suit the group.

Remember this is not an Olympian sports session – it’s a soft activity that’s fun for all!
